We cooperate with many academic and industrial partners

We have been partially funded by the National Science Foundation. Users may submit samples to us in person or by post and send us the Customer Information Form

For our industrial users, the legal department at Texas A & M University and the Department of Chemistry have prepared a Testing Agreement that will cover all legal aspects of nondisclosure.  The testing agreement should meet and/or exceed your requirements for non-disclosure, while maintaining Texas A & M Universities stature as a non-profit public institution. The services provided by the SQUID Laboratory are quid pro quo.

A signed copy will be then mailed back to your organization.

Samples submitted to the SQUID Laboratory remain under the direct control of the investigator generating the materials.  All data obtained by the SQUID Laboratory directly relevant to the samples are turned over to the investigator upon completion of work.  Publication of such data is at the discretion of the investigator.

Sample Submission

Samples may be submitted in person or by mail.

Step 1. Fill out Sample Submission form and . On-line Sample Submision File in PDF format

               send a submission by e-mail  :   EMAIL SUBMISSION or regual post (see below)

Step 2.  Bring your sample and the sample submission form to room 2408 or 2409 or mail your sample to

Step 3.  The staff will examine your sample and assign you a data collection date.

Step 4.  On the day AFTER data collection please call 979-845-9125 or email to ascertain the status of your data.

Please avoid contact Laboratory Staff in person.  This usually will interrupt your data collection and slow the entire process down.

  

Shipping samples to the SQUID Laboratory

Sample Handling

  • Powder samples can be delivered in sealed sample vials. 
  • Normally only 10mg of the powder sample is needed for analysis. 
  • When sampling bulk powders be sure to follow good analytical practices. 

Sample Shipping
  • Place sample vials in square shipping containers and pack with bubble wrap.
  • Ship express air.
  • Include MSDS information when available.
  • Hazardous materials should be clearly labeled on the outside of the shipping container.

Publication Rights

Sample/Data Ownership and Publication Rights.

Samples submitted to the SQUID Laboratory remain under the direct control of the investigator generating the materials.  All data obtained by the SQUID Laboratory directly relevant to the samples are turned over to the investigator upon completion of work.  Publication of such data is at the discretion of the investigator.  The proceeding is stated with the following understanding.

a) The techniques and procedures used in the SQUID Laboratory are the property of the Texas A & M University System and of the developer/owner if they are under license to the University

b) Data generated by the SQUID Laboratory from joint ventures (service work exempted) and ensuing claims to such data are subject to TAMUS policy on intellectual property
